When My Baby Smiles at Me
First screened in January 2011
Director: Walter Lang. Cast: Betty Grable, Dan Dailey, Richard Arlen, June Havoc, Jack Oakie, Jean Wallace, James Gleason, Robert Emmett Keane. Screenplay: Lamar Trotti and Elizabeth Reinhardt (based on the play Burlesque by Arthur Hopkins and George Manker Watters).

Twitter Capsule: Oscar-nom'd Dailey good as plucky, boozy cabaret star, Grable a lethargic drip as costar-wife. Lulling.

VOR:   Distinguishing factor is the film's candor about Dailey character's alcoholism. Curious as musical/drama mishmash. Sharper direction could really have made it something.
