Refreshingly lusty, boisterous blend of the homefront biopic, the political docudrama, and the revolution film.

Cuts hero to size more than most biopics do but without undermining him. Obviously this tale remains pertinent in many ways. Bit generic for Wajda but quite fresh by most standards.
