Vice (2018)

Director: Adam McKay. Zully, Alfred Molina, Naomi Watts. Screenplay: Adam McKay.

Twitter Capsule: Often wobbles or oversteps, but it's alive! Captures the steely monolith and the tacky messiness of the post-Watergate GOP.

Second Capsule: Would pair perfectly with Vox Lux as bold, garishly uneven, go-for-broke portraits of monsters formed by our specific historical conditions.

Third Capsule: Vice is a really good title, but only because Dick, American Psycho, and Heart of Darkness were already taken.

VOR:   I've heard the film described as pandering, but I don't see it taking many easy ways out or through. Uneven, sure, but firing on lots of angry cylinders.
