A Childhood
aka Une enfance
First screened in October 2015
Director: Philippe Claudel. Cast: Alex Mathieu, Pierre Deladonchamps, Angelica Sarre, Jules Gauzelin, Catherine Matisse, Patrick d'Assumçao, Lola Dubois, Fayssal Benhamed, Philippe Claudel, Gérard Barbonnet. Screenplay: Philippe Claudel.

Twitter Capsule: Some poignant observations. Several others feel overemphatic. Basically familiar tale needed lighter director's touch.

VOR:   Even when the film conjures an affecting sense of smalltown France and juvenile anguish, you could hardly call this novel territory. Fine, but easily skippable.
