Unbroken (2014)
First screened in December 2014
Director: Angelina Jolie. Cast: Jack O'Connell, Miyavi, Domhnall Gleeson, Garrett Hedlund, Finn Wittrock, Alex Russell, Maddalena Ischiale, Vincenzo Amato, C.J. Valleroy, John D'Leo, Jai Courtney, John Magaro, Luke Treadaway, Louis McIntosh, Kuni Hashimoto, Shinji Ikefuji, Taki Abe, Yutaka Izumihara. Screenplay: Joel & Ethan Coen and Richard LaGravenese and William Nicholson (based on the book by Laura Hillenbrand).

Twitter Capsule: Boiled potato. The worst-made hunk of studio Prestige Product since Les Mis. In dogged pursuit of the opposite of insight.

VOR:   Currently a commercial and cultural tentpole, but so unilluminating as narrative and listless in technique that it'll last as little more than a footnote to Hillenbrand's book and Jolie's career.
