Truth (2015)
First screened in November 2015
Director: James Vanderbilt. Cast: Cate Blanchett, Robert Redford, Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace, Elisabeth Moss, Bruce Greenwood, David Lyons, Stacy Keach, Noni Hazlehurst, Rachael Blake, Andrew McFarlane, John Benjamin Hickey, Philip Quast, Nicholas Hope, Dermot Mulroney, Felix Williamson, Connor Burke, Patrick St. Esprit, voice of Alan Alda (or am I crazy?). Screenplay: James Vanderbilt (based on the book Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power by Mary Mapes).

Twitter Capsule: Rope bridge spanning an abyss of half-processed Bush-era despair. It gets you across, but you feel it swaying. Blanchett!

VOR:   Not fully in control of its points; sometimes commits or defends the very sins it indicts. The filmmaking isn't interesting. Despite all of that, it exerts a powerful claim.
