Preening. Awkwardly written. Viciously turns on many characters. Sad because much better movie sporadically peeks through.

Rock is a formidable figure, so even wonky efforts carry interest and weight. When the film isn't bending over backward to lionize him and lance his enemies, it's worth seeing and debating.
