In Brief: It's an innovator! It's a proud throwback! Visually, tonally, and storywise, it's a near-shambles. I guess it's Superman?

VOR:   Clearly vital to a genre legacy that is very much a mixed blessing. Odd effort at staging our sunniest hero in our bleakest film decade.
