First screened in October 2015 / Most recently screened in November 2015
Director: Lenny Abrahamson. Cast: Jacob Tremblay, Jason Segel, Sean Bridgers, Joan Allen, Tom McCamus, William H. Macy, Amanda Brugel, Joe Pingue, Cas Anvar, Wendy Crewson, Randall Edwards, Matt Gordon. Screenplay: Emma Donoghue (based on her novel).

Twitter Capsule: Contrivances abound; only some redeemed as ideas. Subtleties, semaphores duke it out. Messy transition. Larson works hard.

VOR:   Rapturously received upon arrival, though I wonder if that will hold. Gutsy subject matter, though it softens some edges you can imagine a braver film leaving sharp.
