 In Brief:  Arnold's almost sinister facility with texture and film craft lifts a potentially thin script. Middle section so tense!

VOR: ③  So strong, if hardly cliché-free. Most valuable as a calling card for a prodigious directorial voice, deftly making a leap from shorts.
