Director: Robert Redford. Cast: Rob Morrow, Ralph Fiennes, John Turturro, David Paymer, Hank Azaria, Johann Carlo, Paul Scofield, Elizabeth Wilson, Mira Sorvino, Christopher McDonald, Allan Rich, Martin Scorsese, Barry Levinson, Paul Guilfoyle, George Martin, Bruce Altman, Ben Shenkman, Byron Jennings, Ernie Sabella, Timothy Busfield, Debra Monk, Mario Cantone, Grace Phillips, Illeana Douglas, Calista Flockhart, William Fichtner, Ethan Hawke. Screenplay: Paul Attanasio (based on the book Remembering America: A Voice from the Sixties by Richard Goodwin).

Twitter Capsule: Proficiently mounted and reasonably engaging, but inconsistent style and grasps of character. Its epiphanies seem naïve.

VOR:   Warmly received, but tricky to see why. Actors, aesthetics often wobbly. Redford belabors some interesting subtleties and waffles on others (especially ethnicity and homoeroticism).
