The Poseidon Adventure
First screened in May 2006 / Most recently screened in June 2016
Director: Ronald Neame. Cast: Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Red Buttons, Stella Stevens, Shelley Winters, Jack Albertson, Roddy McDowall, Eric Shea, Pamela Sue Martin, Carol Lynley, Leslie Nielsen, Arthur O'Connell, Fred Sadoff, Jan Arvan, Sheila Allen. Screenplay: Stirling Silliphant and Wendell Mayes..

Twitter Capsule: Grandly mounted but still chintzy survival drama. Credible chills of mortality, at least. The Jesus stuff!

VOR:   A durable classic, but even if it entertains and impresses more than Airport or The High and the Mighty, it doesn't innovate much. I do like the surprise deaths.
