The Paradine Case
First screened in October 2010
Director: Alfred Hitchcock. Cast: Gregory Peck, Ann Todd, Alida Valli, Louis Jourdan, Charles Laughton, Charles Coburn, Joan Tetzel, Leo G. Carroll, Ethel Barrymore, Isobel Elsom, Lester Matthews, Patrick Aherne, John Goldsworthy. Screenplay: David O. Selznick and Alma Reville (based on the novel by Robert Hichens).

Twitter Capsule: Unpopular Hitchcock, but I love the blend of neurosis and starchiness, and the merciless dissection of marriage.

VOR:   Atypical and perhaps prosaic in some respects, compared to other Hitchcocks. This is exactly what intrigues me about it: a unique showcase and odd test for his artistry.
