Mad Max: Fury Road
First screened in May 2015 / Most recently screened in July 2015
Director: George Miller. Cast: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Josh Helman, Rosie Hutington-Whiteley, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, Courtney Eaton, Abbey Lee, John Howard, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, Quentin Kenihan, Melissa Jaffer, Megan Gale, Jennifer Hagan, Coco Jack Gillies, Stephen Dunlevy, Richard Norton, Chris Patton. Screenplay: George Miller, Brendan McCarthy, and Nico Lathouris.

Twitter Capsule: Voluptuously expressive. Its own China syndrome of crazy conviction, engineered to pestle and pulp its audience.

Second Capsule: Doubling back only deepened film's strengths for me. Non-ATMOS 2D screening made the experience less sadistic.

VOR:   Whatever my concerns about thematic coherence and sadistic self-propulsion, the kineticism and hyperbolic inventiveness within the movie astonish, as does the zeal it's inspired.
