Twitter Capsule: Closer to Capote than Cadillac Records. Prosaic at times, but way exceeded my expectations, especially Cusack, Banks.

VOR: ③  Even if two halves don't always speak perfectly to each other, the film's spirit and the leads' performances are impressively in sync. Certainly resists biopic boilerplates.
