Life, Animated
First screened in February 2017 / Most recently screened in May 2017
Director: Roger Ross Williams. Documentary about Owen Suskind, an autistic man in his 20s who learned to communicate with others through the language of the Disney movies he idolized. Screenplay: Ron Suskind (based on his book Life, Animated: A Story of Sidekicks, Heroes, and Autism).

Twitter Capsule: No mere brand-burnishing exercise. Gets inside and celebrates resilient autistic man's worldview but sees the costs.

VOR:   Adventurous and innovative exercise in approximating its autistic subject's point of view in ways particular to his personality. Eye-opening.
