Twitter Capsule: A wave and a reef—feelings roll in startlingly deep surges but themes, motives, and style are intricate, sprawling, alive.

Second Capsule: Just saw Julieta and Things to Come back-to-back in a cinema that played the score from Carol in the darkness before each one started...

Third Capsule: In related news, I am no longer a person but a whorling cloud of free-radical particles, each emitting a halo and hum of actressy devotion.

VOR:   Almodóvar's style often crystallizes his stories into service of an aesthetic vision. Here, he uses color, style, and form to make the story slippery, not to organize it.
