Judgment at Nuremberg
First screened in March 2004 / Most recently screened in July 2006
Director: Stanley Kramer. Cast: Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster, Maximilian Schell, Richard Widmark, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, Montgomery Clift, Werner Klemperer, Torben Meyer, Martin Brandt, William Shatner, Edward Binns, Virginia Christine. Screenplay: Abby Mann (based on his original screen story).

Twitter Capsule: Easy target for usual Kramer critiques but acting and direction feel earnest in the best sense. I respect it.

VOR:   If I taught History or Civics, I'd show this before 12 Angry Men. Unusually patient, mature, and affecting. Memorable stab at storytelling across language barriers.
