Honeyland
First screened in August 2019
Directors: Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov. Documentary about an ethnically Turkish Macedonian woman supporting herself by raising bees in an abandoned village, until a nomadic band of new neighbors disrupts every part of her life.

Twitter Capsule: One of the most complete syntheses of documentary and fictional techniques I've ever seen. Looks simple, but so layered.

VOR:   Imagine how different this film would be via more conventional techniques. Makes so many global and political statements without strain.
