Faces Places
aka Visages villages
First screened in October 2017 / Most recently screened in November 2024
Directors: Agnès Varda and JR. Documentary about a roving art project through the north of France, conducted by an 88-year-old filmmaker and a 33-year-old street artist.

Twitter Capsule: Sweet old lady and her blurry accomplice seek "human exchange" while bending everyone to their vague yet steely will.

VOR:   Varda's aesthetic is demonstrably her own, and collaborative angle is illuminating. Interesting undercoats of discord, elegy beneath all the whimsy.
