Carrington
First screened in November 1995 / Most recently screened in April 2015
Director: Christopher Hampton. Cast: Emma Thompson, Jonathan Pryce, Steven Waddington, Rufus Sewell, Samuel West, Janet McTeer, Alex Kingston, Jeremy Northam, Penelope Wilton, Sebastian Harcombe, Peter Blythe, Richard Clifford, Georgiana Dacombe. Screenplay: Christopher Hampton (based on the book Lytton Strachey by Michael Holroyd).

Twitter Capsule: Not every dot in script connects; Hampton maybe not a natural cineaste. But sex and starch converge in interesting ways.

VOR:   Cerebral and erotic, without being stuffy or sensational. Standard arthouse fare in some ways but well-acted, and interestingly vignettish. Very unusual for Thompson.
