Director: Asif Kapadia. Documentary about the life, career, and death of British jazz-pop singer Amy Winehouse. Interview subjects include Nick Shymansky, Juliette Ashby, Lauren Gilbert, Tyler James, Salaam Remi, Mitch Winehouse, Blake Fielder-Civil, Yasiin Bey, Raye Cosbert, Andrew Morris.

 Twitter Capsule: Potent, fond, but opaque; nothing it does can rival or unpack sheer power of the voice. Dicey slo-mo. Not yet sold on Kapadia.

VOR: ③  Kapadia gets a lot of credit for refusing talking-head crutches, but is it better to hear Amy talk over aerial views of London? Valuable archive but still a bit prurient.
