World Trade Center
First screened in August 2006
Director: Oliver Stone. Cast: Nicolas Cage, Michael Peña, Maria Bello, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jay Hernandez, Michael Shannon, Armando Riesco, Nick Damici, Nicky Katt, Tom Wright, Stephen Dorff, Frank Whaley, William Mapother, Kimberly Scott, Dara Coleman, Donna Murphy, Viola Davis, Peter McRobbie, Dorothy Lyman, Lucia Brawley, Aixa Maldonado, Ed Jewett. Screenplay: Andrea Berloff.

Twitter Capsule: Can't blame Cage or the ever-reliable Peña, but the film's less too soon than too little. Slick and oddly bland.

VOR:   I wasn't too impressed, yet I appreciated its willingness to Go There, in whatever way. That said, as revealing of how Americans simplify and sentimentalize history as of how we face it.
