1999 Oscar Predictions:
Who Will Win, and Who Should

Okay! We've got two days to go and it's time for me to go down the line and commit myself to predictions in all the divisions. For those of you who are frequent visitors and correspondents, don't worry that I've lost my personality—I'm still petty and self-absorbed! In the right-hand column, I've indicated whom I would vote for in all of the races. Because I couldn't possibly know what to vote for in the Animated, Live Action, and Documentary Short categories—and I barely have any better indication of who will win in those divisions—I omitted these categories. Finally, I have observed no preference in the Foreign Language and Documentary Feature categories, since even I am not so self-absorbed as to declaim authority regarding movies I have not seen. (I have at least screened All About My Mother, but none of its competitors, and I was not impressed enough by the film to assume I would vote for it.)
