Waiting for "Superman"
First screened in December 2000
Director: Davis Guggenheim. Documentary about the crisis of public education in the United States, and lottery systems by which promising students attempt to secure rare berths in higher-functioning charter schools. Interview subjects include Geoffrey Canada, Michelle Rhee, Randi Weingarten, and Bill Gates. Screenplay: Davis Guggenheim and Billy Kimball.

Twitter Capsule: I welcome an opinionated doc and this one is provocative but often feels one-sided and driven by rhetoric.

VOR:   Hard to imagine a worthier topic even if argument may be slanted and format nothing new. Get out there and fight about it.
