Viva Zapata!
First screened in August 2013
Director: Elia Kazan. Cast: Marlon Brando, Joseph Wiseman, Anthony Quinn, Jean Peters, Arnold Moss, Alan Reed, Mildred Dunnock, Harold Gordon, Frank Silvera, Florenz Ames, Lou Gilbert, Fay Roope. Screenplay: John Steinbeck.

Twitter Capsule: Preposterous feints at "Mexican" idiom but powerful lensing, earnest political impetus. Brando, cast find truth in it.

VOR:   Of course its authenticity is dubious but Kazan wasn't interesting in doing endless Streetcars, and he got Fox to go along. Provocative, no matter the faked or glossed bits.
