Trumbo
First screened in December 2015
Director: Jay Roach. Cast: Bryan Cranston, Diane Lane, Michael Stuhlbarg, Louis CK, Helen Mirren, Elle Fanning, Alan Tudyk, John Goodman, Stephen Root, Dean O'Gorman, Chrisitan Berkel, David James Elliott, James DuMont, Roger Bart, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, John Getz, Garrett Hines, Dan Bakkedahl, Richard Portnow, Johnny Sneed, Madison Wolfe, Becca Nicole Preston, Meghan Wolfe, Mitchell Zakocs, Mattie Liptak, Toby Nichols, John Mark Skinner. Screenplay: John McNamara (based on the book Dalton Trumbo by Bruce Cook).

Twitter Capsule: Some free speech: looks crummy! Acting often hammy! Writing, ironically, is bad! TV isn't beating films but coarsening them!

VOR:   Hollywood has been less diligent than it could be in profiling this invidious episode, but Trumbo feels cheap in most of its approaches, in many senses of the word.
