Spectre
First screened in November 2015
Director: Sam Mendes. Cast: Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Andrew Scott, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Dave Bautista, Jesper Christensen, Monica Bellucci, Rory Kinnear, Alessandro Cremona, the fleeting simulacrum of Judi Dench, ooh there's Miss Bala. Screenplay: John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and Jez Butterworth (based, you know, kind of, on characters created by Ian Fleming).

Twitter Capsule: Ridonk, but survives for a long time on consummate craft, well-balanced tone. I had fun. Last third wastes that good will.

Second Capsule: Ferrari. Jalopy. That's the arc you experience from Spectre's first scene to its second. And kind of from its first two thirds to its last.

VOR:   Already inspiring more articles about how and why it continues reimagining Bond, for better and worse, than outright raves. They'll taper off, but the threads are worth pursuing.
