Shame (2011)
First screened in December 2011 / Most recently screened in February 2019
Director: Steve McQueen. Cast: Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan, James Badge Dale, Nicole Beharie, Lucy Walters, Elizabeth Masucci, Anna Rose Hopkins, Chazz Menendez, Alex Manette, Robert Montano. Screenplay: Steve McQueen and Abi Morgan.

Twitter Capsule: (2011) Vacillates between moody insight and straw-grasping. Best scene, the date, stuck in patchiest section, the middle. Mercurial.

Second Capsule: (2019) Aka We Need to Talk about Fucking. Heavy wrapping on tiny gifts. Tone and style never feel commensurate with its thin story.

VOR:   Still worth a peek. It's hardly risk-averse. Some scenes, especially with Beharie and Mulligan, light some sparks. But it's a clear disappointment.
