Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
First screened in January 2017
Director: Gareth Edwards. Cast: Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, voice of Alan Tudyk, Guy Henry, Alistair Petrie, Mads Mikkelsen, Jimmy Smits, Ben Daniels, Genevieve O'Reilly, Paul Kasey, Stephen Stanton, Ian McElhinney, Fares Fares, Jonathan Aris, Sharon Duncan-Brewster. Screenplay: Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy (based on a screen story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta, and characters created by George Lucas).

Twitter Capsule: Slowly hoists itself to just over par, after seriously sludgy start. Mendelsohn's bad, which is what proves it's sci fi.

VOR:   I may be overrating it here, but something about the movie's implacable acceptance of total annihilation felt unusual—even a bit brave.
