Pete 'n' Tillie
First screened in May 2016
Director: Martin Ritt. Cast: Carol Burnett, Walter Matthau, Geraldine Page, Barry Nelson, Lee Montgomery, Rene Auberjonois, Kent Smith, Philip Bourneuf, Henry Jones, Whit Bissell, Isabel Sanford. Screenplay: Julius J. Epstein (based on the novel Witch's Milk by Peter De Vries).

Twitter Capsule: At first, shares its characters' problems: mopey, awkward, quipping to quell emotion, etc. Turns out it has plans.

VOR:   Some aspects seem totally unshaped. Elsewhere, it shows signs of misbegotten effort, like the fitful voiceover. I did appreciate the attempt to portray grief in a low-key register.
