My Home, in Libya
First screened in November 2018
Director: Martina Melilli. Documentary about the filmmaker's research into her Italian grandparents' childhood upbringing in Libya and her deepening relationship with the Libyan stranger who is aiding her research at a very challenging time.

Twitter Capsule: On-screen text and other tricks feel rote at first but the encounter between Martina and Mahmoud keeps deepening.

VOR:   Neither form nor substance departs completely from how similar subjects have been handled elsewhere, but nor are they retreads. Moving and important.
