The Mule
First screened in December 2018
Director: Clint Eastwood. Cast: Clint Eastwood, Bradley Cooper, Ignacio Serricchio, Dianne Wiest, Alison Eastwood, Taissa Farmiga, Andy Garcia, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, Robert La Sardo, Clifton Collins Jr., Noel Gugliemi, Victor Rasuk, Eugene Cordero, Daniel Moncada, Loren Dean. Screenplay: Nick Schenk (based on the New York Times Magazine article "The Sinaloa Cartel's 90-Year-Old Drug Mule" by Sam Dolnick).

Twitter Capsule: Another mash note to a Sweet-at-Heart Racist, whose every critic must eventually melt. Embarrassing in so many respects.

Second Capsule: Looking forward to having it explained to me how The Mule is somehow less sentimental, scattershot, and politically dubious than Green Book.

VOR:   As a seemingly self-conscious swan song for Eastwood, however shaky and self-undermining, I suppose this merits some thought. Ten minutes, tops.
