Minding the Gap
First screened in November 2018
Director: Bing Liu. Documentary about three young men growing up in Rockford, Illinois, and contending in different ways with cycles of precarious income and abusive behavior. Interview subjects include Zack Mulligan, Kiere Johnson, and Bing Liu.

Twitter Capsule: Poignant take on middle American cycles of pain, even if levels of candor surpass those of insight or subtle craft.

VOR:   I've seen such stories told with more stylistic assurance and tougher inquiry, even from the same studio, but this is still a rare, valuable chronicle.
