Twitter Capsule: Methodic madness, balancing farce and sorrow, even if some anecdotes play better than others. Key step to even better Altman.

Second Capsule: Odd blend not just in tone but in ambition. Is low-key farce a thing? Is distracted polemic? Antiwar film that's antimessage?

VOR:   The TV show and subsequent Altman glories sometimes overshadow the film's achievements, in more and less fair ways. But sonically, visually, and politically, it's a milestone.
