Lilies of the Field
First screened in March 2002 / Most recently screened in March 2016
Director: Ralph Nelson. Cast: Sidney Poitier, Lilia Skala, Isa Crino, Lisa Mann, Francesca Jarvis, Pamela Branch, Stanley Adams, Ralph Nelson, Dan Frazer. Screenplay: James Poe (based on the novel by William E. Barrett).

Twitter Capsule: Reprises yet gently flexes Poitier's typecasting as a paragon. Appealing and well-scaled; no lunge for Import.

VOR:   In a just world, this would have been a sweet side-project, decent in all senses, in a riskier, more varied career Poitier might have had. Proficient, historically important, but no landmark.
