Inside Daisy Clover
First screened in April 2006 / Most recently screened in March 2016
Director: Robert Mulligan. Cast: Natalie Wood, Christopher Plummer, Robert Redford, Roddy McDowall, Katharine Bard, Ruth Gordon, Betty Harford, John Hale, Peter Helm, Ottola Nesmith, Harold Gould, Edna Holland. Screenplay: Gavin Lambert (based on his novel).

Twitter Capsule: Less acidic than Play It As It Lays; not as harrowing as Inland Empire. Still, unexpected forerunner of both.

VOR:   I'm surprised this one doesn't have more devotees. Takes multiple risks in tone and structure. A bitter and inventive Hollywood self-laceration. Curveballs around sex, too.
