Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens
First screened in December 2015
Director: J.J. Abrams. Cast: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Harrison Ford, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Carrie Fisher, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Max von Sydow, Ken Leung, Kiran Shah, Emun Elliott, Brian Vernel, Yayan Yuhian, Greg Grunberg, Anna Brewster, Pip Torrens, Rocky Marshall, Andrew Jack, Harriet Walter, Mark Hamill, voices of Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o, Anthony Daniels, Brian Herring, Dave Chapman. Screenplay: Lawrence Kasdan & J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt.

Twitter Capsule: Industrial light, sound, color, motion, and magic. Tad overstuffed; choppy at times. But clever, inclusive, fun.

VOR:   The film savvily reprises and recombines inherited conventions and elements. Originality and risk aren't tantamount here, though I do love the eclectic casting.
