Finding Vivian Maier
First screened in December 2014
Directors: John Maloof and Charlie Siskel. Documentary about Vivian Maier, a reclusive Chicago-area nanny who achieved renown after her death as one of the world's most celebrated street photographers. Screenplay: John Maloof and Charlie Siskel.

Twitter Capsule: A remarkable occasion engagingly seized, but in the quest for the persona too little is illumined in the art.

VOR:   Maier's posthumous rise to prominence really is extraordinary. The film participates crucially in that exhumation, even if it isn't the most compelling element. Part of a valuable archive.
