Ed Wood
First screened in October 1994 / Most recently screened in April 2015
Director: Tim Burton. Cast: Johnny Depp, Martin Landau, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bill Murray, Jeffrey Jones, George "The Animal" Steele, Lisa Marie, Patricia Arquette, Mike Starr, Max Casella, Brent Hinkley, G.D. Spradlin, Norman Alden, Ned Bellamy, Vincent D'Onofrio. Screenplay: Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (based on the book Nightmare of Ecstasy by Rudolph Grey).

Twitter Capsule: Perfectly suits Burton's oddball empathy while passing off stylistic limits as homage. Very sweet if hardly without flaws.

VOR:   One of the definitive movies about movies. Maybe the definitive movie about bad movies. A peak in Burton's ambition and emotion, and a rare studio gamble, then as now.
