A Delicate Balance (1973)
First screened in July 2004 / Most recently screened in July 2014
Director: Tony Richardson. Cast: Katharine Hepburn, Paul Scofield, Kate Reid, Lee Remick, Joseph Cotten, Betsy Blair. Screenplay: Edward Albee (based on his play).

Twitter Capsule: Stultifying, miscast read on the text. Play turns on bodies being where they shouldn't. Film just feels crowded.

VOR:   Virtually everything you should not do in bringing theater to screen, much less Albee: uninflected naturalism, stars coasting on set personas, indifferent frames. Makes text seem lame.
