The Day of the Dolphin
First screened in July 2014
Director: Mike Nichols. Cast: George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, Fritz Weaver, Paul Sorvino, Jon Korkes, John David Carson, Edward Herrmann, Leslie Charleson, Victoria Racimo, Willie Myers, John Dehner, Severn Darden, William Roerick, Elizabeth Wilson, Phyllis Davis. Screenplay: Buck Henry (based loosely on the novel by Robert Merle).

Twitter Capsule: Parallax Livingston Seagull but wetter. You'd have to be nuts to make this but it lacks a nut's conviction.

VOR:   Proof that anti-government paranoia could seep into any genre, including family-friendly anthropomorphic pastoral. Curio for Nichols fans, Flipper fans, Scott completists.
