All This, and Heaven Too
First screened in January 2002 / Most recently screened in January 2016
Director: Anatole Litvak. Cast: Bette Davis, Charles Boyer, Barbara O'Neil, Jeffrey Lynn, Helen Westley, Virginia Weidler, June Lockhart, Ann Todd, Richard Nichols, Harry Davenport, Fritz Leiber, Henry Daniell, Montagu Love, Walter Hampden, George Coulouris, Sibyl Harris, Edward Fielding, Ann Gillis, Mary Anderson, Peggy Stewart. Screenplay: Casey Robinson (based on the novel by Rachel Field).

Twitter Capsule: Shouldn't work so well. Or be so long. But Bette's tough and tender in a Fontaine part. Oddly persuasive.

VOR:   Memorable proof of a time when women's romantic yearnings and compromised pasts could fuel a massive hit. That said, this is sturdy comfort viewing but not a real advance.
