Five Broken Cameras
First screened in February 2019
Directors: Emad Burnat and Guy Davidi. Documentary about Palestinian resistance to Israeli settlements of the West Bank, filtered through the experience of the filmmaker and his family. Screenplay: Guy Davidi.

Twitter Capsule: Not above bathos as a persuasive tactic. Still a brave, valuable, powerfully constructed memoir of Occupation.

VOR:   Potent chronicle of an era before cellphones were a ubiquitous tool of protest. The broken-cameras conceit is so potent it might have been exploited further.
